weirdness

Hi! Are you a new or recent visitor to my blog? I hope you stick around and have a bit of a read. To make it easier to keep up to date with new content, please subscribe to my RSS feed. Of course, feedback is always appreciated and leaving a comment is a great way for me to come and check out your site.

I’ve been tagged by two people to tell you seven weird things about me so I better do it. Well, okay then. Here are the meme rules:

• start with 7 random facts/habits about yourself and write them in a blog post
• choose another 7 people to get tagged and list their names
• leave each person a comment to tell them they have been tagged

1. I hate tea and coffee so much. Coffee smells SO bad. I have been forced to drink very sugary tea once or twice for medicinal purposes. People say it is good for shock. One of those times was when I fell out of a car. I was the passenger in a crappy old car, I was 17 and too cool to wear a seatbelt, we went around a corner and the door unlatched. I fell face first onto the road. Luckily we weren’t going very fast.

2. I have ugly feet - big huge bunions that are not caused by bad shoes but are hereditary. My dad has them and his mum had them too. My dad was the only one of four kids to get the bunion gene from his mum and I was the only one of four kids to get the bunion gene from my dad.

3. I used to like to match the pegs up as I hung washing on the line, but I don’t worry about it any more. I guess a couple of years of hanging cloth nappies out to dry will cure you of time wasting things like that.

4. I like to read the fine print. Not to be thorough but just cos it’s there.

5. This one could be TMI (too much information) but since you’re asking… when I was pregnant with my second child, a few hairs sprouted out of my chin and they are still growing there today. Well, not the exact same ones but you know what I mean. I can’t be bothered with plucking so I dry shave them every so often.

6. When I was about 13, I decided to test my theory that people didn’t really need to waste time with shampoo (as it was a modern luxury) so I didn’t wash my hair for weeks and weeks. At first it was greasy but then (if I remember correctly) it sorted itself out and looked normal again. My sister still thinks that was SO gross.

7. I haven’t worn makeup for years and years. Is that weird or are the people who wear makeup every day weird?

extra credit:

I just thought of another one, and it’s a good one! My husband’s brother is my sister’s partner. So my sister and I (and my husband and his brother) share the same in-laws. I think my sister is also my sister-in-law. And our kid’s have double aunties and double uncles. Also my sister’s birthday is on the same day as my husband’s - actually, tomorrow.

Well, there you have it - I hope you have been thoroughly entertained at my expense. :)

Now it’s your turn: Abby, Manda, Alicia, Amanda, Meshell, Nikki and Anna Maria.

Totally love the idea that your hair actually sorted itself out. I always wonder about that, like, in days of yore. People must have just looked super greasy — or not!
