today…

written by Jen on Friday, March 16, 2007No Comment

today… 6 years ago, at 3.46am I pushed out a wonderful baby boy called Jack. He was born into a pool of warm water and I was so proud that I didn’t use any drugs throughout the birth. (Emma was a different story - ugh!)

Jack

I loved growing him inside me (forgetting, for a minute, the excessive vomiting all throughout the pregnancy that got me hospitalised for a full week at one point) and I loved meeting him and getting to know him when he came out. I loved growing into the role of his mother and I loved growing our family.

Happy Birthday Jack! Here is one of the presents he got - a Bionicle that he put together before school:

Scary looking huh? This is more Emma’s style:

And here she is, lying on the couch watching one of her favourites, Monsters Inc. She just loves Boo, the little girl. This face is saying “go away Mum” so I did.  Can’t get in between Emma and Boo.

On the cutting table today are piles of fabric and piles of books. In my brain are piles of projects waiting to get out:

Another pile - this one is a pile of books that I am soon to list on eBay or etsy. Yes, there’s a few Japanese crafting books in there, eagle eyes. Let me know if you see anything there you want - otherwise, I will be posting here when they are uploaded and ready to buy.

There’s more than just that pile too. I do love my crafting books but I am realising that there needs to be a limit. So my loss is your gain.

And now I have to stop procrastinating and go clean the house up - we are having family over tonight for a birthday dinner for Jack.  He has requested homemade pizza which is a little bit of a logistical challenge (you can only fit so many pizzas in the oven at once, and we will have 10 hungry mouths waiting) but I love homemade pizza so much!

We will have a bunch of things laid out on the bench: ham, salami, pepperoni, pineapple pieces, capsicum, tomato, mozzarella, pizza sauce and lebanese bread as the bases and everyone can just pile on whatever they like best.  Cook ‘em up and eat as many as you can!  Yum!  :)

But I am procrastinating, again.  I have a house to clean up and a cake to cook.
