stain busting
What to do with a much loved piece of clothing that has a stain that just won’t come out? I have had a couple of tops waiting for some kind of transformation and today was the day!
This green tee had a couple of greasy stains near the neckline that needed covering so I made a couple of yoyos (my first ever and they were pretty fun to make) and added some buttons for a bit of extra style.
No, there weren’t that many stains but I thought if I add a few more buttons and really make a feature of it then it won’t look like a button-to-cover-a-stain and instead would look like a cute detail on a shirt.
Yay! I can wear this comfy tee again! I also found a pink long sleeve top with a nice v-neck that I liked, but couldn’t wear. This time the stain (just the one) was about midway down the top in an awkward spot. After a bit of thought I added some red ricrac and then another yoyo.
The yoyo (with button) is in about the spot where the spot is.
Not a bad cover up job and two tops I can now get some use out of again - and they probably look better than they ever did before, as well!
You don’t even have to wait for a stain - just get out some trim and have fun with your clothes!

They’re really cute! I’m always looking for a way to sneak a little bit of that quirky stuff into my life! I never thought of rick-rack across the belly, almost like a belt…
Fabulous! I absolutely LOVE the green one to bits, that one’s my favourite…such a great placement of all the lovelies =)
Loving the green top. I have a top very similar to it only in more of an avocado green. I’ve been wanting to jazz it up a bit……….thanx for the inspiration!
