sewing class

written by Jen on Monday, April 10, 20067 Comments

I finally pulled my finger out and organised my sewing classes - two daytime and two Saturday classes at a local sewing shop.  I will be teaching half a dozen people how to sew a tote bag.  I have never actually taught a class formally like this before but I am guessing it won’t be too hard as I know the subject matter pretty well.  :)

I need to make up two tote bags this week, for display in the shop and I had to pick some of their fabric (free!) to make them up.  This is what I chose:

At the top is a floral print (and it’s lining top left) and on the bottom an Autumn print with it’s lining.  These are fabrics I wouldn’t normally pick but it is good to do something different, and of course I needed to choose from their range - they mostly cater to traditional quilters.

I also got organised and did up a bit of a Word document so that I know what I am doing when I present the class.  If you are in Canberra and are interested please get in touch and I will give you the details.
