Postcards in your mailbox

I signed up to www.postcrossing.com about a month ago. It is a great idea - you send a postcard to someone and someone else sends you one. It was only started up a few months ago and already has over 8000 users and 35000 postcards sent and received. You can put information in your Profile to say that you would love handmade cards or only Viewcards or whatever and you will get little surprises in your mailbox from strangers all over the world! It is kinda neat.
And I’ve just heard about www.postsecret.com where you can send in anonymous postcards with a secret and the best are posted weekly on the site. I was reading the background info about the project and it seems like a very interesting phenomenon.
The secrets range from funny to downright tragic. Quoted from this article: “what makes it such a compelling site is the meld between art and emotional honesty” . Here is a Christmas flavoured sample:
