new for the market
New things I have been sewing for Mathilda’s Market, which is on at Manuka Oval (Canberra) this Sunday. First up, girl’s aprons:
And some quilted blankets - or as I call them, quilties…
And if you are wondering how I do it - how I fit in so much making around (part-time) work and kids and everything else in my life - the answer is that I am feeling really rotten right now and I think I have a virus. I have been mostly ignoring it all week, pushing on and pushing through it and today I fell in a heap.
By the time I got to work I felt awful and closed the door, sat at my desk and cried and cried. All week I have been having hot flushes (too young for menopause I hope!) and tingly and racing heart, feeling woozy and weird, here and there, on and off. So today I went to a doctor who took a bunch of bloods, which made me faint, as I was already feeling woozy and had pins and needles in my hands and feet before she stuck a needle in me and took half my blood out.
I was really worried that the low calorie intake and diet pills I am on may have been having a cumulative effect (I have been taking them for a few months now) but my doctor, while disapproving of them, thinks it is more likely to be a simple every day virus. The blood tests will let us know I guess.
My sister thinks it is probably my body saying SLOW DOWN so I have been doing that today. I have a twinge in my throat - hope my glands aren’t up. This market better be good!

Oh, diet pills are not cool. Nice work, but we want you to live a little longer–just until we can get over there and meet you.
Try a green smoothie or something. I have those in the recipe section of my blog.
Organizing Mommy’s last blog post..Blitz-It Friday #3
I just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate and enjoyed your pillowcase dress pattern ( easy how to instructions). I am a stay at home mom who just received a singer from my mother as a gift about a year ago. I have been wanting to make some things for my 18 month old daughter and this was PERFECT. I made one last night and it only took me two hours from start to finish. Of course I know they will improve with time and practice…. but was definately fun. Thanks so much for sharing that with us.
I was wondering if you could email me an easy how to ( sewing aprons)? It is my mothers birthday in September and thought how nice it would be to make her something with my new sewing machine ( ironically that she gave me). Thanks for your time and all your ideas you offer.
Sincerly,

Thanks a lot Clarissa - glad you are getting into the sewing!
