New Clothes for Boy Doll

This is a Zapf doll called Jolly Dolly. I bought this doll for Jack when he was almost 2. I was pregnant with Emma and thought it would be good practice and role play for him.
It’s a very sweet doll with a gorgeous little face and a soft body. One of the reasons I chose this doll was his brown eyes - the same as Jack’s.
I have always hated this outfit though - actually it looks better in this photo than in real life. For one thing you can’t see how filthy the original clothes are! Finally I sewed up a new cooler outfit for him. These are the original clothes.
And here he is in his new cool jeans and Bob tshirt. He looks so much better now! I was really happy with this and I think I am rather clever!
I used the old clothes to rough up a new pattern, making a few changes and came up with this. Then I found an old tshirt of Jack’s and cut it up for the doll’s tshirt. I love his jeans - notice that I put my Red Instead label on the pocket! This set was so fun to make.
Ok, little children might want to look away now. See what a new outfit can do for a guy? Emma’s “jammies girl” doll is suddenly paying Jack’s boy doll a lot more attention… I keep finding them snuggling up together.
