my first day

written by Jen on Monday, April 14, 20084 Comments

My first day at work today went really well. The people are really great and the workplace has a nice feel to it. Today was mostly about learning about how they do things, getting my head around all the processes and getting to know the systems they use.  I had a good day and it looks like it will be a good job for me.  My job title is Print Manager and I am responsible for tracking print jobs, liaising with clients about their requirements, basic design layouts and print-ready artwork and digital print production.  Yay!

For my lovely friend Jess, who asked what I wore to work today:

workday

That’s the shirt I made last week (NewLook 6407) along with a red knitwear vest that I picked up from the op shop recently.   In perfect condition and a great colour.  I also wore black stretch trousers and ankle boots with a heel.  I was comfy and happy with how I looked.

I don’t know about you, but I’m getting a bit tired of seeing my fake-smiling face staring out at me from this blog. I sure have sewn a lot lately though - and it did need modelling!

Well done. I have been following your blog for a while and have been especially noting your going back to work journey. I think that for many of us stay at home mums in Aus this is going to be a necessity and I am putting it off as long as I can. Your title does sound very impressive though and I am glad to see your first day was good. I hope every day after is good too.
    Cheers

Jen, well I’ve sacrificed my Friday night to have a good read of your blog at last!, and I’m glad I did (was intending to do some scrapbooking but this has certainly been more relaxing - and inspiring!).

I’m so happy that you’ve had such a great first week at work …. all your constant smiling at dinner the other night said it all! What a great Birthday present for you too, you deserve it after all your hard work, both at home with all the sewing and taking all the ‘return to work’ pressures in such stride - and confidence! Wishing you a wonderful birthday (p.s. you’re looking fantastic, too!).
