looking back, looking forward

I know, I know, not much to see around here lately.  I have been slogging away behind the scenes though, if that helps.  I am going to give ye olde blog here a bit of a facelift and a bit of a tune up and I’m working to get it all ship shape before I do any other major changes.  Right now, I am doing a big and annoying job that should really have been done a long time ago:  I’m taking my 46 categories and merging them down to about 10.  I’m also adding descriptive tags to all posts (and there’s nearly 400 posts).

Fun, fun.  It melts your brain doing this kind of thing, which explains why I never got around to it before.  Of course, it I had got around to it before, when there were less posts, it would have been WAY easier.  Oh, the irony.

One super good part about it all though is the revisiting of old blog posts.  I am only skimming through them to pull out the tags (keywords) and correct category, but along the way I am remembering all the amazing things I have sewn and made and thrifted and cooked and linked to along the way.  I’m reminded of all the funny things the kids have said and done, of all the art and craft projects I have tried and all the work I’ve done and fun I have had.

I really recommend you have a browse back through your own blog archives every so often - there will be so many treasures and memories to find and see again.

Try it here:  visit a random post on my blog, or look at all the old posts.
