locally made

written by Jen on Monday, May 4, 2009No Comment

The Locally Made market at MOCCA (Manuka) was a great day out.  A cold and late start (I was a bit disorganised that day!) turned into a beautiful sunny Autumn day, with a steady but small crowd of shoppers and browsers.

I was right next to the gorgeous Tania (self published local author Tania McCartney - see more here) and opposite my good buddy Bec (of ReVa - scrapbooking and art kits) so between them, I always had someone fun and friendly to chat to.

New friend Kate from Miss Chief Maker organised the market as a fundraiser for the child care centre she works part time at, and she did a great job of bringing together some of Canberra’s best designers.  Kate also runs a cute little store on the weekends, out at Rodney’s at Picturesque Pialligo - I’m organising to get some RED INSTEAD handmade in there soon.
