January

Happy January!  Happy New Year!  Happy Hooray I am updating my blog at last!

drawer2

What exciting things have I been up to?  Well, sorting out the kitchen drawers for one thing.  I know it might not be a glamourous job but someone has to do it, right?  And it looks SO much better when everything is in it’s little home.

I bought some of that rubber drawer lining stuff and some little white plastic baskets and got to work, sorting and organising - finding long forgotten things and op-shopping a few more.

See?  That was worth waiting for, wasn’t it?

What - you want more?  Oh, okay then.  I’ve also been doing a bit in my art journal:

Queen of Hearts

Above: Queen of Hearts - done with crayon, playing card, paper flowers, old postage stamps.  I also cut a stencil of the face and used black to fill it in and the white flower is from the packaging of a Heidi Swapp scrapbooking thing that a friend was going to throw out.  I ran it through the Xyron and stuck it right in.

Two Faces

This one is called Two Faces - to me they are angry but Paul said they don’t look angry to him so I don’t know.  They are supposed to be grotesque in any case so I think I got that bit right.  I have been feeling cranky and annoyed these last two days and this is what came out onto the page.

Home Improvement Project

Above - Home Improvement Project.  This one came together really quickly and seemed to draw itself.  The words are from a “box of words” that are used for scrapbooking and I literally just pulled these word strips off the top of the pile and they told my story.

You can see all the pages from my art journal here.
