it’s a zoo

Yes, I am back from my week away! Actually I got back Monday evening but honestly, I have been pretty much FLAT OUT since then. Anyway, one of the fun things we did was take the kids to Melbourne Zoo where we met up with Paul’s brother’s family. The cousins had a ball together and we all had a great day.

To be honest, when I visit a crafty blog and there is a post showing their photos from a recent trip away, I just skip over it - but of course it is different when I want to show off my animal photos!

Aren’t emus such funny looking creatures?

Melbourne Zoo is great - natural enclosures for the animals and a big emphasis on wildlife conservation. I love the way that they have the giraffes and emus in together. Two funny looking animals sharing a space. I mean, really, I love them but y’know, that neck is really crazy long.

We walked and walked and walked and saw almost everything.

And a few Aussie favourites for our American friends!

I’d say the reason your emu is funny looking probably has a lot to do with the fact it’s an ostrich. But I think you knew that - I think you are checking to see that we are all awake!
