I got a haircut today!

new haircut

I am feeling renewed and invigorated. I had been having a rough couple of weeks at work and really wasn’t happy. Of course I can’t go into any detail here but part of it was to do with the hours (which started off as school-friendly and then increased to almost full-time) and there was also an “incident” that left a very bad taste in my mouth. After a meeting with the two business owners, we aired a few things and came up with a win-win situation. As of Monday, I am back to 9.30am to 2.30pm which means I will have every afternoon with the kids and lots less stress and mummy-guilt.

We realised that my current position really needed to be full-time if it was going to work properly but luckily for me they didn’t want to lose me or my skills, so they will fill my Print Manager position with a new full-time person and I am going to be given a part-time position in the Web Team. I will also be doing some customer consultations and project-based work for the Print Team as well, as I already know that side of the business. I feel much happier about it all and excited to be having a change and getting stuck into coding and web management.

As for the “incident” that happened last week, I received a very sincere apology and felt so much better as a result. It really is amazing how an hour’s chat can work out so many issues and put things right.

So glad things are working better for you now - and glad that you are rightly proud of your new haircut. Very nice. I am working out what to do with mine at the moment - one of those every-two-years things when I just get totally fed up with whatever happens to be my current hairstyle.

That hair style really suits you. Good to hear you worked things out at work. I have been reading your blog for quite some time and I dont know if I ever mentioned it but I dont know how you do it. I am thinking of returning to work and my kids are all older, 2 of them are actually workingpart time. I just dont know how mums work, keep the house tidy, cook, craft and manage the kids and partners. my hat goes off to you. All that and you sorted a work situation out. well done!

Jen, it’s been ages since I visited your blog, so there’s much to catch up on. I always enjoy seeing the projects you create and about how you manage to squeeze work in between life. I’m enjoying your art journal entries - very talented lady. The new hair looks gorgeous.

A new haircut is always liberating and cathartic I think!

Good for you airing things and not allowing yourself to be treated badly. Woohoo on the apology.

Found you on Facebook blog network, haven’t been here in a long time. Blog is looking gorgeous.
