Fairy Girl

Hi! Are you a new or recent visitor to my blog? I hope you stick around and have a bit of a read. To make it easier to keep up to date with new content, please subscribe to my RSS feed. Of course, feedback is always appreciated and leaving a comment is a great way for me to come and check out your site.

I have been using my new papercrafting space to try to work out my very first scrapbooking layout. Well, I’ve done one digital one before but this is the first “analog” layout so I am taking my time and trying to get the placement of elements just right.

I am going to enter a local competition to win a shitload of product and you have to use three things from All My Memories in the layout. The pink area is for journalling and “Emma” will go in the tag holder.

I thought I would document the different placement of elements so that I could keep hold of what I am learning along the way. Here is what I have played with so far:

fairy_layout_1

This one (above) is the first one that I worked on. After a while I decided that there three was too many photos so I went with two instead (below).

fairy_layout_2

This is number two (above). I decided to use a plain green at the bottom and a twill tape sticker in between the striped and plain papers. There is also more room at the top (striped section) which I think works better too. I still haven’t stuck anything down but I’m getting happier with this one, now for a little embellishment (below).
fairy_layout_3

I have added a pink and a green paper punched flower and placed a button in the centre. Working with this idea, I added a row of four buttons above the tag holder. I don’t like the green (behind the pink journalling area) as it is too similar to the green background paper. One more change below.

fairy_layout_4

This one (above) is the same as the previous one, except that I have added a little photo of Emma in the journalling box. I think another of those paper punched flowers to the left of the pink journalling box would look good too.

I will think on this layout for a bit longer. It’a a bit daunting doing things the analog way. There’s no UNDO button! Anyway, once I have decided on the final look, I will use some machine sewing and maybe sand the photos around the edges and I will ink the edges of pretty much everything.

I will keep you updated dear reader - let me know if you have any great ideas or feedback. :)

Ooooh, do you know, I think the first is my fave! But I do love those pink buttons, oh and that flower, decisions, decisions! I’m glad I haven’t delved into scrapbooking, I would be going crazy! LOL.

I love your colour scheme and papers/prints etc. and of course your lovely model :)

OH DAMN, I’ve changed my mind already, haha, now I think I like the 3rd one, I hadn’t noticed the flower strip across the whole thing *heart*

I’ll just go before I confuse you any more :P

I like the first one because with the middle picture there seems to be a lot more cohesive action happening - more like a visual story going on…

      :-}
