craft fair
I took the day off work today so that I could go to the Canberra Quilt and Craft Fair. I was allowed - I asked my boss! In fact, I felt a little silly while asking for a personal day and explaining the reason why… I am going to Sydney with my sister and her (grown up) daughter on the weekend for an IKEA trip (YAY!) and so I wouldn’t get to go to the Craft Fair as I would be away over the weekend. Luckily, it goes from Thursday to Sunday so taking a day off work today meant I could do it all!   I know my boss likes to bead and quilt, so I thought my chances were good. She kindly said that if my work was up to date, it was no problem! Thanks Sally!
So here is what I bought today. Above are some Hampton Art Clear Stamps and some wood mounted cuties.Â
Some of the new Hero Arts Clear Stamps and a Distress Ink in a colour I didn’t have (Old Paper) and a stamp cleaner pad thingie. I currently use Baby Wipes but I thought this might be a bit better. I will see how it goes.
New Hero Arts and Stampin Up catalogues - they were going cheap and I love to look through them for ideas.Â
A stencil burner and some stencil plastic from Punch with Judy and some Dimensional Magic (never tried it before!) and some Gamsol (never heard of it before! a colourless fluid that is used to blend ordinary pencils). Under the category of “didn’t know I needed it until I saw it being demonstrated”.
Back issues of Scrapbooking Memories and Cardmaking magazines. Going cheap, why not? Haven’t read them as up until my recent studio throw out and clean up, I hadn’t bought scrap magazines in a while.
I had seen this in KMart of somewhere and liked the idea, but didn’t really get it until I saw it being demonstrated. Cheap and looks very handy. It’s used to position and stamp your clear stamps.
Lastly, some brush markers (no name-ish brand and therefore much cheaper than others available) that are used for stamping, and a huge 3″ scallop circle punch (love it) and a Zero Centering Ruler, inches only but will come in handy and save the brain from thinking too hard.Â
Ages ago, I used to post my shopping hauls quite regularly but then I got a bit weird about that - you might think I have more money than sense! Maybe I do! As long as you USE the damn things (and get rid of the unused stuff to the op shop or ebay) it should be okay. Right?
