Guilt free!

Hi! Are you a new or recent visitor to my blog? I hope you stick around and have a bit of a read. To make it easier to keep up to date with new content, please subscribe to my RSS feed. Of course, feedback is always appreciated and leaving a comment is a great way for me to come and check out your site.

I feel so much better! Today I finally posted off my handmade postcards for Nikki-Shell’s postcard swap AND I sent out a couple of thankyou packages to two people who sent me cool stuff recently - better late than never, right?

SPOILER ALERT! Here is what I sent out today for the handmade postcard swap:

And of course it is a print of my BLOOM mixed media/collage piece:

Here are all the lovely cards I have received so far:

Thanks so much everyone and special thanks to Nichola for organising the swap! And I’m really sorry to everyone that it took so long for me to get organised.   In my defence, my husband was away for work all last week (to Brisbane) and then away for fun all weekend (to Melbourne) leaving me at home with the three kids and a mountain of washing.  I can feel the weight of the guilt lifting off my shoulders at last!  :)

Happy Mail Day!

I have been a bad blogger.  I haven’t updated in a little while so here are a few posts to catch up.

First off, I have to say a very big thank you to Anna-Maria who sent me a lovely little package last week.  She had mentioned on her blog that she had bought a couple of extra CDs as they were really cheap ($2) and she loved them and thought she could share them with someone in blogland.  I was the first to put my hand up so she sent me this great CD and also a little notebook that she didn’t want.  Thanks Anna-Maria, the CD has been on high rotation - I really enjoy it.  Not sure what I am going to do with the happy little plastic buckles but they are cute!  :)

On the same day I also received another little goodie from the very organised Kristen who sent me one of her beautiful cards as part of the Handmade Postcard Swap which is being run by Nichola.

I really love this card.  It even feels nice, and how cute is the bunny?  Thanks so much Kristen - your card is just beautiful!

Kristen also designs the most beautiful fabric and has it screenprinted and oh!  I’m so jealous!  Just another of my ambitions…  :)

more miniswapness

Jaylie, Jaden and Journey have received their miniswap package and I’m glad to say they loved it! I took some photos before I sent the parcel off to them so you can see what was inside. I made a little bag for each of the kids and put lots of interesting things inside.
Mini Swap Peek - for JJJ

They each received a blank canvas and some mini acrylic paints, some colouring paper and pencils, stickers, easter eggs and chicks and a handpainted tee each, and some other little bits and pieces.  Click on the photo below to go to Flickr and see all the notes for this shot.

Here is Jaylie modelling her new tshirt and bag.

I love what Joy did with the Easter eggs I sent over. I have never seen an Easter tree before but I love it! Look at the little pink ricrac on the bottle at the bottom of the pic.

Swaps received!

I am a little behind in my posting! A few days ago I received two boxes in the mail which was very exciting! Both of them were swaps. The first that I opened was my long awaited Thrift Swap package. I gave up on this a while back as it was due about 6 weeks ago. When it didn’t show I emailed Amy, the organiser to let her know and she contacted my mystery partner and got back to me to say that the person was (understandably) quite annoyed as she had spent heaps to send it to me and now it hadn’t even arrived!

I thought that was the end of it, but it turns out that Amy put the word out about me and a few other people who had similar stories and some lovely kind-hearted people stepped up to complete the swap for us. I would like to thank Sarah for sending me this great package! Sam (the family artist) has claimed the anatomy book and Emma loves the little handbag and there were some other great things in there too. I know it cost a lot to send so thanks again Sarah.

I had to wait until Jack got home from school before I could open the other box but when I told him and Emma about it they were so excited! It was the box from their Miniswap partners, Jaylie, Jaden and Journey whose mom Joy has a scrapping blog at www.scrapalicio.us - lots of J’s in that family! Jack and Emma loved their package. Here they are with all their loot! There were drawings from the kids and toys and games and art supplies and silly hats and lots of great stuff. Thanks so much! This was a fun swap! I will post pics of what we sent them once I know it has arrived.
