The kids went back to school today.  Jack (in Kindy) was very happy and excited, Sam (in Year 8 ) was not so happy.  Emma and I had a good day at home together and it was nice to know that we will soon be back to our sort-of-routine.  The school holidays were really great though - Paul took some time off and it was so nice for all of us to have our days free together.  Mostly we just hung out (or cleaned up the always messy house) and it was great to just laze around in the mornings and let the kids stay in their jammies till lunchtime - me too!

We spent what seems like the entire holidays trying to rearrange and clean up Jack’s room.  We finally finished it up yesterday and now we are just waiting for it to magically mess itself up again.  Actually it should stay cleaner, we reorganised the space and it works much better now.  Jack’s asleep right now and I forgot to get an “after” photo earlier, but here are the before photos:

What is it about boys and mess?
