I spy with my little eye…

Hi! Are you a new or recent visitor to my blog? I hope you stick around and have a bit of a read. To make it easier to keep up to date with new content, please subscribe to my RSS feed. Of course, feedback is always appreciated and leaving a comment is a great way for me to come and check out your site.

I’m sitting chatting to the kids while they have their bath and Jack (4 years old) decides he wants to play “Eye Spy” which is always a terrible idea - at least until they get a little older.

So I sigh and say okay, but it has to be something in this bathroom. Yes, he says.

So he has first turn ,and he has trouble getting his mouth around the beginning bit: “I spy with my little eye something beginning with…” but then he gets it out and he picks A.

So I check again: “It has to be something in this bathroom, right?” He ponders this for a minute and then says yes, it’s everywhere. So I instantly know it is Air. Good one. Except you can’t see Air with your little eye.

So then it’s my turn and I say “I spy with my little eye something beginning with B” thinking “Bath” should be easy for them to guess, seeing as how they are in it. Sadly, no. Jack yells out “Window!” and I say no, it starts with B, remember. So he thinks for a minute “uuuuuummmmmmmm” then yells out “I know! Wall!”

I make an excuse to go and do something and say we will have to play again later.

Like when he can spell. :)

Finally at Flickr!

I have been meaning to do this for quite a while… I’ve finally updated heaps of photos to Flickr. You can see my photos here: www.flickr.com/photos/redinstead.

So far I’ve uploaded pics of lots of bags I have made, some toys I have made and also millions of pics from Japanese handbag crafting books.

Look! I can make my own mosaic now! All of these handbags are available to buy at www.redinstead.com.au by the way.

Download the 7 Days of Christmas!

I was a bit annoyed that I didn’t get it together in time to make a crafty Advent Calendar and so I decided to do this instead. You’ve got to build the excitement - just 7 days to go!

This is a free download counting down the 7 remaining days of Christmas - you cut the sections apart and then put them onto a key ring and flip the pages over each night so that your kids will know how many days are left until Santa comes. Click the image to open up a PDF file.

7 days of Christmas

Just open the 7 Days of Christmas and then hit the print button. I would love to know if you are using this so please leave me a comment below and feel free to spread the word on your own blog if you like. :)

Like it?

I finally got around to making an image to go in the header up there - what do you think? In fact, it was a visit to Yarnblog that really got me motivated!

When I found this template I had the intention of customising it but I found that the colours were so soothing and that I really liked the simplicity of it all - I didn’t want the style of the blog itself to compete with the images I would be posting. So now it has the simplicity but with a little bit of style all my own up the top there!
