Coveting these books…

Hi! Are you a new or recent visitor to my blog? I hope you stick around and have a bit of a read. To make it easier to keep up to date with new content, please subscribe to my RSS feed. Of course, feedback is always appreciated and leaving a comment is a great way for me to come and check out your site.

I keep reading about this quilting book by Denyse Schmidt and now I really want to order a copy for myself! Thanks to Laura at Thimble I found some excerpts from the book online. There are three projects - the cards I keep hearing about, as well as a funky zigzaggy quilt and some Summer slippers. It just so happens that I have been thinking about making some slippers for myself and here they are!

Here is a pic of the book:

While we’re on the subject, here is another book I really would love to get my hands on:

The New Crewel

I am so tempted to get them from Amazon but with Christmas coming up I better sit tight and hint a lot! I think I will see if any book shops around here have them and order in if I have to. Then let someone special know they are waiting there at the bookshop for me… :)

Illustration Friday - STRENGTH

Here is my entry for this week’s Illustration Friday. The theme this week is STRENGTH. Not especially happy with this but here it is anyway.

Elephants are a very strong animal. I had visions of him being suspended in mid air by a crane, or being hoisted up by someone very strong - but I had trouble getting those images from my head to the screen.

Drawn in Photoshop with my graphics tablet. I did another entry that I’m also not that happy with (creative slump?) over here. I would love your comments and please check out the rest of my blog while you are here.

Illustration Friday - STRENGTH ?

I have been really stuck with this week’s theme over at www.illustrationfriday.com - STRENGTH. I just couldn’t seem to come up with a mental image that worked for me.

Anyway here is something, but I don’t think it says Strength. So it’s not my official entry and I’m not even quite sure I like it. Comments welcome as always.

What is he holding? Well it was supposed to be a weapon but it ended up looking more like a broom. :)

Aussie Crafters

I have just updated my links list a little bit - have a look over there on the right column. I have reorganised the links so that the Australian Crafters now have their own category. If you have an Australian crafty blog please leave me a comment below so that I can have a look!

Thanks so much to Red Current Links for this great list. I hope you don’t mind that I am spreading the word! :)

Kath from Red Current is from Canberra like me and has a great crafty blog herself.
